split green peas
dried chopped onions
dried minced garlic
Add all ingredients plus four cups of water to a saucepan plus 1 -2 spoons vegetable stock paste (available here or replace with vegetable stock cube).
Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to low and simmer until the peas are tender, about 30 minutes. Remove and discard the bay leaf. Season to taste and add cheese or vegan parmesan.
