We have heard many stories from people who have traveled down the path of the zero-waste journey and we found one interesting thing in common...
By changing their consumption choices to reduce plastic, they have automatically switched to more natural options. Most of the changes took place in cleaning agents and their skincare routine.
Many of you also have personally asked me what I use and do as part of my skincare routine. In this post, I will be sharing with you the natural choices for carrier oils that you can get to turn your beauty routine to be more friendly towards the earth and your body.
When making the switch to natural skincare please be mindful that each of our skin types is different and the PH levels vary from person to person. What works for me may not work for you or your skin may take some time to just. Being that the skin is the bodies biggest organ what you put directly onto the skin gets absorbed into the body. Witch Hazel
Witch hazel is a plant with medicinal properties which barks are made into ointments. It is usually applied to the skin and scalp as it is widely known for its benefit to ease inflammation and soothe sensitive skin. I love using this prior to moisturising my face with oils. Simply wash your face, dab some which hazel onto a reusable cotton pad and dab onto the face. In particular this product acts as an astringent that closes pores and can assist with oily skin and acne.
The benefits of witch hazel oil:

● Reduce skin irritation
● Help treat hemorrhoids
● Fights acne
● Alleviates scalp sensitivity
● Soothes sore throat
● Protects against skin damage

Golden Jojoba Oil
This is my favourite oil. Jojoba is a perennial plant. The jojoba oil comes from the nuts and you can use it on its own or as a carrier oil to mix with other essential oils. I absolutely love this oil and use it daily morning and night. It mimics your natural sebum and I find my skin don't look oily after applying. It seeps right in and give a natural glow. For anti aging I add in a few drops of frankincense oil at night time.
The benefits of golden jojoba oil:
● Moisturizing
● Antibacterial
● Antioxidant
● Non-comedogenic
● Hypoallergenic
● Help control sebum production
Grapeseed Oil
Grapeseed oil comes from the pressed seeds of grapes, which usually occurs as by-products of the process in making wine. It is celebrated for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial functions, along with rich content of Vitamin E, making it a popular choice for topical treatment for the skin. This is a great carrier oil and you can mix in some jojoba, almond oil and Vitamin E for added benefits.

● Antioxidant
● Treat acne outbreaks
● Make skin softer and more elastic
● Even out skin tone
● Sun damage protection
