Celery Juice - Celery, Kale, Romaine Lettuce, Parsley, Lemon, Ginger
Celery juice has undoubtedly taken the health food world by storm in 2020, and there is no sign of this juicing powerhouse slowing down! Celery is so powerful when consumed on its own and has many health benefits when combined with other ingredients. If you are new to cleansing, juicing, juice fasting, or detoxing, a celery blend will be a gentle introduction in comparison to straight celery juice.
Health benefits of celery juice and the addition of greens: Celery juice is highly nutrient-dense and is packed with zinc, copper, folate, biotin, and other B vitamins. Celery juice is high in various plant compounds called phytonutrients which work to reduce oxidative stress in the body and reduce inflammation which contributes to ill health.
One cup of celery juice provides the following percentage of your daily needs:
- Calcium: 8% of the Daily Value (DV)
- Magnesium: 7% of the DV
- Phosphorus: 5% of the DV
- Potassium: 14% of the DV
- Sodium: 9% of the DV
- Vitamin A: 7% of the DV
- Vitamin C: 16% of the DV
- Vitamin K: 74% of the DV
The best time to introduce a healthy green juice is the first thing in the morning, before a meal/after a glass of water, when you wake- up. It will boost your digestive system and give you the energy you need to get started for the day! If you are a coffee drinker, and are not yet on a cleanse, but wish to enjoy a green juice - just remember to leave roughly one hour in between because coffee is highly acidic and will flush out the vitamins from the juice.
